Review: Shiva (Akshay Kumar) is a small-time thief and crook who is also crazy. He falls in love with Priya (Sonakshi Sinha) and suddenly after that his life suddenly changes, when a young girl turns up and claims to be his daughter. Soon he found out that the girl is the daughter of IPS Police officer Vikram Rathore (also Akshay Kumar). Shiva then soon meets Vikram, but Alas! Vikram dies soon after that. Then Shiva decides to take revenge of Vikram’s death. So he then fits himself into Vikram’s shoes both as a father and a police officer to find the goons and then take revenge.
Choreographer turned Director Prabhu Dheva is back once again as a Director this time again with yet another remake of a super-hit Telugu action flick after Wanted. Yet again he’s hit right on the money. He really knows how to present action well on screen. Equal credits also go to the story writers Vijayendra Prasad and N Prakash who have not only added to the original storyline but also wrote a few sequences even better. Shiraz Ahmed who has done the screenplay and dialogues deserves a round of applause. His punch lines for Akshay were amazing and they are surely to be popular among the masses.
Akshay Kumar, who is back to action after almost 7 years shows that even today he is the real king of the modern action cinema. He has played both the roles of Vikram as well as Shiva with ease. Sonakshi doesn’t get much scope in the film but she has delivered in whatever part she has got towards the end of the film. Others like Yashpal Sharma, Nasser, Gurdeep Kohli, Paresh Ganatra deliver well. The girl who played AK’s daughter was cute. Music by Sajid-Wajid is peppy and entertaining with songs like Chinta Ta, Dheaon Dheaon, Chammak Challo and Pritam Pyaare. Even the action sequences were brilliantly filmed and were well applauded by the audience.
Overall, Rowdy Rathore is yet another wholesome entertainer to be enjoyed without the usage of human brain.
